Easter is the central event of the Christian faith โ the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. Without Easter, Paul writes, "our faith is futile" (1 Corinthians 15:17). But because of the empty tomb, everything changes: sin, death, and despair are defeated.

โreturned from the tomb, and told all these things to the eleven, and to all the rest.โ
โThese words seemed to them to be nonsense, and they didn't believe them.โ
โBut Peter got up and ran to the tomb. Stooping and looking in, he saw the strips of linen lying by themselves, and he departed to his home, wondering what had happened.โ
