“But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels [of compassion] from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?”

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”

“Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:”

“‹For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:›”

“‹And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.›”

“Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.”

“‹And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth› [his] ‹sheep from the goats:›”

“‹Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?›”

“‹And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.›”

“For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD; because they called thee an Outcast, [saying], This [is] Zion, whom no man seeketh after.”

“The diseased have ye not strengthened, neither have ye healed that which was sick, neither have ye bound up [that which was] broken, neither have ye brought again that which was driven away, neither have ye sought that which was lost; but with force and with cruelty have ye ruled them.”
