βΒΆ Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean [men].β
βAccording as his divine power hath given unto us all things that [pertain] unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:β
βWhereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.β
βΒΆ And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and [in] all judgment;β
βThat ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ;β
βΒΆ Therefore, as ye abound in every [thing, in] faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and [in] all diligence, and [in] your love to us, [see] that ye abound in this grace also.β
βThen this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit [was] in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.β
βForasmuch as an excellent spirit, and knowledge, and understanding, interpreting of dreams, and shewing of hard sentences, and dissolving of doubts, were found in the same Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar: now let Daniel be called, and he will shew the interpretation.β
