“Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.”

“¶ ‹Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer› [is] ‹nigh:›”

“And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they [were] naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.”

“Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.”

“Jesus answered and said unto them, ‹Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this› [which is done] ‹to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.›”

“‹When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.›”

“‹So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.›”

“¶ And he spake to them a parable; ‹Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;›”

“And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.”

“The LORD God [is] my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' [feet], and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments.”

“But the fig tree said unto them, Should I forsake my sweetness, and my good fruit, and go to be promoted over the trees?”

“¶ He spake also this parable; ‹A certain› [man] ‹had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none.›”

“‹Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?›”

“‹And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung› [it]:”

“‹And if it bear fruit,› [well]: ‹and if not,› [then] ‹after that thou shalt cut it down.›”

“Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither [shall] fruit [be] in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and [there shall be] no herd in the stalls:”

“Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.”

“¶ And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry:”

“And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not [yet].”

“And Jesus answered and said unto it, ‹No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever.› And his disciples heard [it].”

“And they gave him a piece of a cake of figs, and two clusters of raisins: and when he had eaten, his spirit came again to him: for he had eaten no bread, nor drunk [any] water, three days and three nights.”

“And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, ‹Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever.› And presently the fig tree withered away.”

“And when the disciples saw [it], they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away!”

“One basket [had] very good figs, [even] like the figs [that are] first ripe: and the other basket [had] very naughty figs, which could not be eaten, they were so bad.”
