βAnd Adam said, This [is] now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.β
βThe chains, and the bracelets, and the mufflers,β
βAnd they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.β
βAnd the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.β
βΒΆ Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,β
βAs the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so [was] the appearance of the brightness round about. This [was] the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. And when I saw [it], I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spake.β
βAnd when the living creatures went, the wheels went by them: and when the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up.β
βWhithersoever the spirit was to go, they went, thither [was their] spirit to go; and the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature [was] in the wheels.β
βWhen those went, [these] went; and when those stood, [these] stood; and when those were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature [was] in the wheels.β
βAnd out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought [them] unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that [was] the name thereof.β
βAnd Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.β
βAnd out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.β
βΒΆ And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;β
βBut the LORD said unto me, Say not, I [am] a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.β
βAnd on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.β
βThe rings, and nose jewels,β
βFor this child I prayed; and the LORD hath given me my petition which I asked of him:β
βAnd God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.β
βAnd the gold of that land [is] good: there [is] bdellium and the onyx stone.β
βThe changeable suits of apparel, and the mantles, and the wimples, and the crisping pins,β
βThe glasses, and the fine linen, and the hoods, and the vails.β
βΒΆ And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.β
βAnd the name of the second river [is] Gihon: the same [is] it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia.β
βBut of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.β
βΒΆ And above the firmament that [was] over their heads [was] the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone: and upon the likeness of the throne [was] the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it.β
βAnd the name of the third river [is] Hiddekel: that [is] it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river [is] Euphrates.β
βAnd a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads.β
βThe name of the first [is] Pison: that [is] it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where [there is] gold;β
βAnd it shall come to pass, [that] instead of sweet smell there shall be stink; and instead of a girdle a rent; and instead of well set hair baldness; and instead of a stomacher a girding of sackcloth; [and] burning instead of beauty.β
βΒΆ Moreover the LORD saith, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing [as] they go, and making a tinkling with their feet:β
βBe not afraid of their faces: for I [am] with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD.β
βTherefore the Lord will smite with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the LORD will discover their secret parts.β
βAs for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side: and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an eagle.β
βΒΆ And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:β
βΒΆ And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire infolding itself, and a brightness [was] about it, and out of the midst thereof as the colour of amber, out of the midst of the fire.β
βAnd she vowed a vow, and said, O LORD of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the LORD all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head.β
βAlso out of the midst thereof [came] the likeness of four living creatures. And this [was] their appearance; they had the likeness of a man.β
βAnd their feet [were] straight feet; and the sole of their feet [was] like the sole of a calf's foot: and they sparkled like the colour of burnished brass.β
βAnd [they had] the hands of a man under their wings on their four sides; and they four had their faces and their wings.β
βAnd I saw as the colour of amber, as the appearance of fire round about within it, from the appearance of his loins even upward, and from the appearance of his loins even downward, I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and it had brightness round about.β
βThe LORD [is] good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.β
βAnd every one had four faces, and every one had four wings.β
