βLikewise, ye husbands, dwell with [them] according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.β
ββΉBut I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.βΊβ
βΒΆ The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so [are] abomination unto the LORD thy God.β
βBut sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and [be] ready always to [give] an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:β
β[It is] good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor [any thing] whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.β
βΒΆ Likewise, ye wives, [be] in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;β
βBut (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.β
βFor after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:β
βShe girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.β
β[This] I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.β
βWhile they behold your chaste conversation [coupled] with fear.β
βShe stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.β
βΒΆ Finally, [be ye] all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, [be] pitiful, [be] courteous:β
βShe maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing [is] silk and purple.β
βShe perceiveth that her merchandise [is] good: her candle goeth not out by night.β
βEven as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.β
βShe layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.β
βShe is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household [are] clothed with scarlet.β
βNot rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.β

βFor [it is] better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.β
βBut and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy [are ye]: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;β
βAnd who [is] he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?β
βThe bonnets, and the ornaments of the legs, and the headbands, and the tablets, and the earrings,β
βIn that day the Lord will take away the bravery of [their] tinkling ornaments [about their feet], and [their] cauls, and [their] round tires like the moon,β
βThe chains, and the bracelets, and the mufflers,β
βThe rings, and nose jewels,β
βThe changeable suits of apparel, and the mantles, and the wimples, and the crisping pins,β
βThe glasses, and the fine linen, and the hoods, and the vails.β
βΒΆ [As] a jewel of gold in a swine's snout, [so is] a fair woman which is without discretion.β
βAnd it shall come to pass, [that] instead of sweet smell there shall be stink; and instead of a girdle a rent; and instead of well set hair baldness; and instead of a stomacher a girding of sackcloth; [and] burning instead of beauty.β
βAnd, behold, there met him a woman [with] the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart.β
βΒΆ Moreover the LORD saith, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing [as] they go, and making a tinkling with their feet:β
βTherefore the Lord will smite with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the LORD will discover their secret parts.β
βThy men shall fall by the sword, and thy mighty in the war.β
