βThe carpenter stretcheth out [his] rule; he marketh it out with a line; he fitteth it with planes, and he marketh it out with the compass, and maketh it after the figure of a man, according to the beauty of a man; that it may remain in the house.β
βΒΆ And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,β
βSee, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah:β
βAnd in the cutting of stones, to set [them], and in carving of wood, to make any manner of cunning work.β
βAnd I, behold, I have given with him Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan: and in the hearts of all that are wise hearted I have put wisdom, that they may make all that I have commanded thee;β
βForasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device.β
βΒΆ And Moses said unto the children of Israel, See, the LORD hath called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah;β
βAnd he hath put in his heart that he may teach, [both] he, and Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan.β
βAnd [that] she increased her whoredoms: for when she saw men pourtrayed upon the wall, the images of the Chaldeans pourtrayed with vermilion,β
βHe overlaid also the house, the beams, the posts, and the walls thereof, and the doors thereof, with gold; and graved cherubims on the walls.β
βGirded with girdles upon their loins, exceeding in dyed attire upon their heads, all of them princes to look to, after the manner of the Babylonians of Chaldea, the land of their nativity:β
βAnd as soon as she saw them with her eyes, she doted upon them, and sent messengers unto them into Chaldea.β

βAnd he garnished the house with precious stones for beauty: and the gold [was] gold of Parvaim.β
βWhat profiteth the graven image that the maker thereof hath graven it; the molten image, and a teacher of lies, that the maker of his work trusteth therein, to make dumb idols?β
βAnd he carved all the walls of the house round about with carved figures of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers, within and without.β
βAnd the greater house he cieled with fir tree, which he overlaid with fine gold, and set thereon palm trees and chains.β
βThat saith, I will build me a wide house and large chambers, and cutteth him out windows; and [it is] cieled with cedar, and painted with vermilion.β
βSo I went in and saw; and behold every form of creeping things, and abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, pourtrayed upon the wall round about.β
βAnd he carved [thereon] cherubims and palm trees and open flowers: and covered [them] with gold fitted upon the carved work.β
