βFor he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.β
βFor this cause many [are] weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.β
βFor if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.β
βBut when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.β
βCreate in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.β
β[If] I take the wings of the morning, [and] dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;β
βEven there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.β
βΒΆ How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!β

βThou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.β
βThou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted [with] all my ways.β
βYea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light [are] both alike [to thee].β
βIf I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.β
βThou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.β
β[Such] knowledge [is] too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot [attain] unto it.β
βSurely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: depart from me therefore, ye bloody men.β
βFor they speak against thee wickedly, [and] thine enemies take [thy name] in vain.β
βDo not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee?β
βI hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies.β
βFor every man shall bear his own burden.β
βBut let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.β
βCast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.β
βFor if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.β
βΒΆ Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.β
βAnd the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:β
βThe sacrifices of God [are] a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.β
βExamine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?β
βHide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.β
βWash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.β
βFor I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin [is] ever before me.β
βAgainst thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done [this] evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, [and] be clear when thou judgest.β
βMake me to hear joy and gladness; [that] the bones [which] thou hast broken may rejoice.β
