“¶ Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.”

“¶ ‹Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:›”

“Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that [is] thy neighbour's.”

“‹For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.›”

“And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.”

“¶ ‹Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.›”

“‹Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach› [them], ‹the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.›”

“‹For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed› [the righteousness] ‹of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.›”

“I [am] the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.”

“And if thou wilt make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone: for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it.”

“¶ And God spake all these words, saying,”

“Neither shalt thou go up by steps unto mine altar, that thy nakedness be not discovered thereon.”

“Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold.”

“An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee.”

“¶ And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw [it], they removed, and stood afar off.”

“And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die.”

“And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.”

“And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near unto the thick darkness where God [was].”

“¶ And the LORD said unto Moses, Thus thou shalt say unto the children of Israel, Ye have seen that I have talked with you from heaven.”

“¶ And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.”

“And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, [even] ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.”

“Therefore shall ye keep my commandments, and do them: I [am] the LORD.”
