โWhen did we see you sick, or in prison, and come to you?'โ
โBut when you make a feast, ask the poor, the maimed, the lame, or the blind;โ
โand you will be blessed, because they don't have the resources to repay you. For you will be repaid in the resurrection of the righteous."โ
โThen the King will tell those on his right hand, 'Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world;โ
โ"'If your brother has become poor, and his hand can't support him among you; then you shall uphold him. He shall live with you like an alien and a temporary resident.โ
โTake no interest from him or profit, but fear your God; that your brother may live among you.โ
โJesus answered, "A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who both stripped him and beat him, and departed, leaving him half dead.โ
โBy chance a certain priest was going down that way. When he saw him, he passed by on the other side.โ
โIn the same way a Levite also, when he came to the place, and saw him, passed by on the other side.โ
โHe said, "He who showed mercy on him." Then Jesus said to him, "Go and do likewise."โ
โHe who has a generous eye will be blessed; for he shares his food with the poor.โ
โIsn't it to distribute your bread to the hungry, and that you bring the poor who are cast out to your house? When you see the naked, that you cover him; and that you not hide yourself from your own flesh?โ
โJesus said to him, "The foxes have holes, and the birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head."โ
โWhoever stops his ears at the cry of the poor, he will also cry out, but shall not be heard.โ
โ"Isn't this the fast that I have chosen: to release the bonds of wickedness, to undo the bands of the yoke, and to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke?โ
