โIf it seems evil to you to serve Yahweh, choose this day whom you will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve Yahweh."โ
โWhen a man vows a vow to Yahweh, or swears an oath to bind his soul with a bond, he shall not break his word; he shall do according to all that proceeds out of his mouth.โ
โand you shall love Yahweh your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.โ
โHe who oppresses the poor shows contempt for his Maker, but he who is kind to the needy honors him.โ
โIf anyone serves me, let him follow me. Where I am, there will my servant also be. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.โ
โIf anyone therefore purges himself from these, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified, and suitable for the master's use, prepared for every good work.โ
